Today is the first day after a long time when i just took the guitar and  woke up singing and strolling outside. I was finally able to lay on the grass, under the unexpectedly kind sun. A nice gentleman who was walking his dog started enthusiastically to tell me stories about the endless fields of lava surrounding us…

The last month was very hurried and didn’t announce her leaving, after all we have been through together. Exactly after the departure of the Icelandic scouts to Nocrich, i came back to the most provocative project: the surviving camp ‘Lost in the Lava’ which was going to happen at the end of the month…

And i had only 3 weeks to convince the people and to organise everything.

Oh, and only a couple of days to prepare the long-awaited trip around the country: 3 days of driving a manual gearbox car, after almost 2 years of driving only automatic gearbox cars.

However, the preparations for the camp did not all go as planned, as i like to greet everything that is new here : ‘it’s part of the Icelandic experience’. And as a reward for all my work, i received what i deserved: in the first night of the camp, when everything was finally going  perfect, i took part in a  cosmic marvel: full moon, million of stars…and my first northern lights. Finally, i learned a lot of lessons and the feedback that i received from the Icelanders and from home as well convinced me that everything was worth it. Even to give up my icelandic language course diploma(I had to skip most of the classes). However, i am still motivated to learn this language, so i will continue to do it alone, with or without the diploma.

While preparing the beginning of the new scout year here, a group of Portuguese scouts joined us and helped us to make the place look more…scoutish and so August passed.

A lot happened at the beginning of September, but you will find out more when i will have more time to tell you.  Sjáumst!

Astăzi este prima zi după mult timp, în care pur şi simplu am luat chitara şi cântând, m-am trezit plimbându-mă pe-afară. Am putut să stau în sfârşit pe iarbă, sub soarele neaşteptat de blând. Un domn simpatic ce-şi plimba câinele a început să-mi povestească entuziasmat despre câmpurile nesfârşite de lavă care ne înconjoară…

Luna trecută a fost tare grăbită şi nu şi-a anunţat plecarea, după toate prin câte am trecut împreună. Imediat după decolarea cercetaşilor islandezi spre Nocrich, m-am întors la cel mai provocator proiect: campul de supravieţuire ”Lost in the Lava” ce urma să se desfăşoare la sfârşitul lunii…

Iar eu mai aveam doar trei săptămâni să conving lumea şi să organizez totul.

Oh, şi doar câteva zile să pregătesc mult aşteptata călătorie în jurul ţării: trei zile de condus o maşină cu cutie de viteze manuală, după aproape doi ani de condus exclusiv o maşină cu cutie de viteze automată.

Mă aşteptau oameni faini, surprize de toate felurile şi frumuseţile Islandei la superlativ.

Nici pregătirile pentru camp nu au decurs fără peripeţii însă, cum îmi place mie să întâmpin orice noutate aici: „face parte din experienţa islandeză”. Iar ca răsplată pentru toată munca depusă am primit mai mult decât meritam: în prima noapte de camp, când totul mergea, în sfârşit perfect, mi-a fost dat să iau parte la o minunăţie cosmică: lună plină, milioane de stele şi … prima auroră boreală din viaţa mea. În final, multe lecţii am învăţat, iar feedback-ul primit atât de la islandezi, cât şi de acasă m-a convins că totul a meritat. Chiar şi să renunţ la diploma de absolvire a cursului de islandeză (am fost nevoită să lipsesc de la majoritatea orelor). Cu toate acestea, sunt în continuare motivată să învăţ limba aceasta, aşa că voi continua singură, cu sau fără diplomă.

În timp ce pregăteam începerea noului an cercetăşesc aici şi un grup minunat de cercetaşi portughezi ne ajuta să facem locul să arate cât mai … cercetăşesc, luna august a şi trecut. Iar programul, deşi complet diferit acum, e la fel de încărcat.

Multe s-au mai întâmplat acum, la început de septembrie, însă asta veţi afla când oi mai avea timp să vă povestesc. Sjáumst!
