Nocrich Camp 2018 – Craft Your Future

Nocrich Camp 2018 – Craft Your Future

Update 27th of July – the event has been postponed for 2019!

From 5 to 14th of August we will be making crafts and traditions cool again during the 4th edition of Nocrich Camp, an international camp based on the motto “Craft Your Future”.

The camp is addressed to ventures and rovers aged between 15 and 24 and its program is based on discovering the multicultural area of Hârtibaciu Valley, mainly the traditions and local history, through craft workshops, an exploration of neighbouring villages after a French model, involvement in the community, evening program around the campfire, but also intercultural evenings with scouts from Romania and abroad.

The Nocrich Camp has an international approach, which means that it also serves the purpose of meeting scouts from different corners of the world with whom you can share experiences.

  • To register for the Nocrich Camp, please use this form.
  • Should you need more details, access the Facebook event here.
  • The deadline for registration is the 25th of July 2018.
  • If you register until the 20th of July you get 20% off the participation fee!

What have we prepared more exactly?

Crafts – The surroundings of the centre have developed due to the crafts practised and perfected by the Transylvanian Saxons, Romanians and Roma. During Nocrich Camp, alongside skilled craftsmen, you will give your imagination a form of clay in the pottery and ceramics workshop, you will manufacture objects from leather, create traditional masks, paint on wood and many more.

Exploration – this activity, inspired by the French, has been tested across the years at Nocrich Scout Centre by lots of scouts, and now it’s time for you to experience it. It helps if you are an adventurer craving for challenges, such as seeking shelter for the night in the community and dealing with the language barrier you’ll get with some villagers.

Multicultural traditions – You’ll be making contact with the traditions left behind by the Saxons and see the present community of this area. A part of this section of the camp is represented by the Treasure Hunt in the village. The city of Sibiu is located 30 kilometres from Nocrich and, for one day, you will have the opportunity to explore it and find its stories alongside your patrol.

Community – Nocrich Camp represents creating an international community for 10 days. The mixed international patrols, the pioneering, the adventures you will share together and the teamwork will help you exceed your limits and develop new interpersonal skills.

Creativity – During the Nocrich Camp: Craft Your Future you’ll find active and interactive methods to relax when there’ll be time for a break from the activities mentioned above. We have prepared a relaxing area, an open space for hammocking, a reading area and many more.

For ventures, the registrations are made on patrols, but every member will register individually, completing this form and mentioning the contact information of their patrol leader. Rovers can register individually, without the requirement to be accompanied by a leader.

Participation fees

The participation fee for international ventures and rovers is 70 Euro and for the accompanying leaders, the fee is 45 Euro (in the limits of one leader per patrol). The fee includes the food, the facilities for camping and cooking the meals, the activities, the materials for activities and the transport in the area during the camp. The participation fee doesn’t include the transport from home to Nocrich.

The camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, dishes and cutlery) is the participants’ responsibility. The cooking equipment (pots, choppers) will be provided by the scout centre, and the meals will be prepared on fire.

The participation fee is paid after receiving the registering confirmation by e-mail.
